2026 Women Making Waves Award – Kayla Tychsen

Kayla Tychsen is a parenting coach & trauma-informed educator dedicated to empowering families and supporting vulnerable children around the world. In 2017, she co-founded a nonprofit, serving refugee communities and helped establish two elementary schools in Lebanon that now educate more than 350 refugee children each year, providing safe, nurturing spaces where students can heal and thrive. As a Certified Parenting Coach and Integrative Trauma Coach, Kayla equips parents and educators with practical tools grounded in attachment theory, nervous system regulation and social-emotional learning.

Now based in Jordan, she continues to support families globally through coaching, workshops and resources designed to build emotional resilience. Her work is driven by a powerful belief: emotionally healthy children today create a kinder, more compassionate world tomorrow. To read more visit here
