2026 Finalist – Bekka Simpson

Fashion can change how you look — but confidence changes how you live.
That belief sits at the heart of everything Bekka Simpson has built through Suki’s Wardrobe, a boutique and online fashion brand that has grown into a vibrant community dedicated to empowering women.
Bekka founded Suki’s Wardrobe in 2017 at just 25 years old, combining her BA (Hons) in Fashion Styling with a clear vision: to create a space where women could feel confident, stylish and truly themselves. What began as a distinctive bridal boutique in Uppermill soon evolved into a thriving women’s fashion destination offering carefully curated clothing, expert styling advice and a welcoming environment where women of all ages and backgrounds feel celebrated.
Bekka’s entrepreneurial journey has been defined by resilience and determination.
Like many small businesses, Suki’s Wardrobe faced significant challenges, including the economic uncertainty of recent years and the disruption caused by the global pandemic.
When COVID-19 threatened the future of independent retail, Bekka responded quickly and creatively, launching an e-commerce platform and offering local deliveries to maintain connections with her customers and keep the business moving forward.
Her determination was tested even further when serious property disrepair issues forced her to restart the business. Rather than walking away, Bekka rebuilt Suki’s Wardrobe with renewed energy. She secured a new six-year lease, retained her team and relaunched the business successfully.
Yet for Bekka, success is about far more than financial growth. Suki’s Wardrobe is built on the belief that style is an attitude, not limited by age, background or status. Through expert styling and a deeply personal approach, Bekka helps women discover clothing that reflects their individuality and builds confidence from the inside out. Many customers describe visiting the boutique as an uplifting experience where they feel encouraged to embrace their authentic selves.
Bekka also uses her platform to support other women in business. Suki’s Wardrobe proudly stocks products from women-owned brands, helping female founders gain visibility and grow their businesses.
Within her own company, she creates opportunities for local women to develop their skills and thrive in a supportive working environment.
Beyond the boutique, Bekka has cultivated a thriving community through events and initiatives that celebrate confidence and connection. Her quarterly fashion shows, which consistently sell out, have become highlights in the local calendar. Featuring staff and customers as models, these events celebrate real women, diversity and self-expression while bringing people together in a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.
Bekka is also passionate about sustainability and accessibility in fashion. Initiatives such as “Sustainable September” promote circular fashion while making stylish clothing accessible to women with different budgets.
Meanwhile, her International Women’s Day fashion show donated a portion of profits to the women’s charity The Circle, reflecting her commitment to giving back and supporting causes that uplift women globally.
Through vision, resilience and a genuine passion for empowering others, Bekka Simpson has built far more than a successful retail business. She has created a supportive community where women feel confident, celebrated and inspired – proving that entrepreneurship can be a powerful force for connection, confidence and positive change.
Bekka will be sharing her story at the 34th annual Inspiring Women Awards on 15th May 2026. More details here.
