2026 Community Award – Kerrie Rimmer

When Kerrie lost her young son Max in a tragic accident, her world changed forever. Instead of letting grief define her future, she transformed that heartbreak into a powerful community legacy. In Max’s memory, Kerrie founded Max Trax CIC, a community cycling hub in Openshaw, Manchester, inspired by Max’s love of bikes and adventure.

Through determination and generous funding, she has created a safe, inclusive space featuring a pump track, cycle repair centre and community hub for families and young people. Built with support from partners, volunteers and Community Payback teams, Max Trax is more than a cycling facility – it is a place for confidence, connection and opportunity. To read more visit here
